Biography

Sandy Heng is a Principal of Ergodicity Partners, a consortium for green media, technology and strategy focused on helping humanity move toward safe, clean sustainable energy. The company applies the principles of racing to inspire rapid innovation and acceptance of Green Technologies around the globe. Racing provides a public exhibition to evaluate and learn about new technologies- all through competitive entertainment.

Sandy is also a contributor to OnCARS.com, a web-based, editorially independent video site about people who love cars, create cars and are curious about cars.

She is a former Emmy Award winning investigative reporter who has appeared on ABC, CNN, ESPN, SPEED and TNN, as well as numerous print and web publications. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska; was awarded a Knight-Wallace Fellowship at the University of Michigan, received Executive Training for Business Journalists at the Wharton School, and was awarded an IFYE scholarship to study in Italy.

She anchored a live weekend news program and reported at the number one rated WXYZ-TV ABC Detroit. She has extensive live breaking news experience from dozens of national events that made history including monumental weather phenomenon, political campaigns, complex court cases and life-changing cultural movements.

Based in Michigan since 1994, her automotive experience includes coverage of major financial and safety stories such as the General Motors Strike of 1997, and the 2000-01 Ford-Firestone Safety Controversy; product introductions at the Detroit, Los Angeles and Chicago Auto Shows; and pit reporting for sports car and stock car racing, including broadcasting the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Speedvision and the SCCA Runoffs.

In the early 90’s, she founded and still owns a small Agribusiness which produces #2 yellow corn, white corn and soybeans in her native state of Nebraska.

She raced the Mille Miglia in 2001 in a 1953 Ferrari 250 MM; pulled seven “G’s” flying with the Blue Angels without a flight suit; and is a certified Master Gardener through Michigan State.

Through racing, she met the love of her life, former GM Executive Herb Fishel. The two married in 2003 and are based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she tends to an eclectic garden of heirloom tomatoes, asparagus, raspberries and Herb’s favorite- okra.
